!!!Liechtenstein, Aloys Prinz

b. Prague (Czech Republic), Nov. 18, 1846, 
d. Vienna, March 25, 1920 politician and social reformer, (also called 
"the red prince"); brother of Prince Alfred  Liechtenstein, cousin of 
Prince Johannes II  Liechtenstein. Opposed to liberalism, 1878-1889 in 
the Reichsrat as a Catholic conservative, (1881 Member, 1888/1889 
Chairman of the conservative Zentrum Club). From 1875 contact with K. 
von  Vogelsang, from 1887 with K.  Lueger, in 1891 became member of 
the Christian-Socialist Party, which he represented in the Reichsrat 
until 1911, 1906-1918 Marshal of the province of Lower Austria, worked 
from 1896-1807 towards a coalition of the Conservatives and the 
Christian-Socialists, after Lueger's death in 1910 became Chairman of 
the Christian-Socialist Party, in 1918 resigned from all his offices.
