!!!Lienzer Dolomiten

Lienz Dolomites, East Tirol/Carinthia, north-western limestone 
mountains of  Gailtal Alps, separated from them by deeply incised 
Gailberg Saddle; south of Lienz. Borders the Pustertal and Oberdrautal 
valleys in the north, the Tirolean Gail Valley and the Lesachtal 
valley in the south. Because of their massive rocky peaks of dolomite, 
locals call them the "fiends". Highest elevation: Grosse Sandspitze 
(alt. 2,770 m). Other peaks: Hochstadel (alt. 2,681 m) with 
1,500 m high north wall, Grosse Keilspitze (alt. 2,739 m), 
Spitzkofel (alt. 2,717 m). Mountain refuges: Karlsbader Huette 
(alt. 2,261 m) at Lake Laserzsee, Kerschbaumeralm-Schutzhaus 
(alt. 1,902 m).
