!!!Loetzò, Johann, Witwe

Loetz´, Johann, Witwe, former glass factory at Klostermuehle 
near Unter-Reichenstein (Kláštersky Mlyn, Czech Republic), 
founded in 1836 by Johann Eisner von Eisenstein, 1851/52 acquired by 
Susanne Gerstner-Loetz and 1878 left to her grandson Max Ritter von 
Spaun, who directed it until 1908 under the old name 
"Johann Loetz' Witwe". Under Spaun, Eduard Prochazka was 
director, who led the company to international success with the 
production of Tiffany glassware, etc. Between 1902-1915 numerous glass 
objects were produced to designs by famous artists (including  Moser, 
Marie Kirschner, Marie Wilfert-Waltl, Franz Hofstaetter, J. Hoffmann, 
O. Prutscher and C. Witzmann). The company participated in numerous 
exhibitions and won several prizes (including the Grand Prix at the 
world exhibition in Paris 1900). After 1910 the company had financial 
difficulties, and in 1947 it was liquidated.
