!!!Loos, Friedrich

b. Graz (Styria), Oct. 29, 1797, 
d. Kiel (Germany), May 9, 1890, landscape painter, engraver and 
lithographer. L. studied at the Vienna Academy with J.  Moessmer, 
study tours through Austrian Alpine regions. Worked in Salzburg for 
several years, started painting in oil intensively. 1835 to 1846 in 
Vienna and Klosterneuburg, several years in Rome. Used especially 
light and colours to liven up his paintings and to bring out and unite 
details.
