politician (OeVP, Austrian People's Party). 1947 to 1949 Provincial 
councillor, 1949 to 1953 member of the Tyrolean Landtag, 1953 
Innsbruck Town Councillor, 1956 to 1983 Mayor of Innsbruck (during the 
Winter Olympics 1964 and 1976); Candidate for the Austrian People's 
Party (OeVP) in the Presidential Elections in 1971.
