Lutzmannsburg, Burgenland, market town in the district of 
Oberpullendorf, alt. 206 m, pop. 948, area 
23.18 km%%sup 2/%, wine-growing region in Rabnitztal valley, near 
the Hungarian border. - Customs post; thermal bath (since 1994). - The 
Kirchberg mountain, which was settled during the Roman period, became 
a centre of Frankish colonisation in the 8%%sup th/%  century; after 
the Hungarian conquest it was the seat of a comitat (countship), later 
a suburb of the domain of Guens. - Parish church of St. Veit 
(mediaeval core, 1673 made Baroque) with Gothic vestry, Baroque side 
altars and neo-Gothic high altar; remains of foundations of a castle 
underneath the church; Protestant church (1846-1848); column of St. 
Joseph (1698); Trinity column (18%%sup th/%  century); farmhouses with 
arcades; houses with façade decorations.
