Moederndorf, Carinthia, village in the district of Hermagor, alt. 
580 m, in the Gail Valley, cadastral district of the municipality 
of  Lake Hermagor-Pressegg. - First documented mention 1331. Late 
Gothic filial church of St. Martin (1483) with fresco of St. 
Christopher (around 1525) by U. Goertschacher on the southern nave 
wall, 2 late Gothic winged altarpieces (1510-1520), one with a 
beautifully carved figure of St. Martin (around 1510-1515) from 
the St. Veit Workshop; late Gothic filial church of 
St. Urban; palace (first documented mention 1458). Southeast of 
Moederndorf, Garnitzenklamm gorge.
