d. Graz (Styria), Oct. 4, 1924, pharmacologist. 1886 professor at the 
University of Innsbruck, 1893 of Graz, 1908-1916 of Vienna. 
Significant contributions to the fields of pharmacognosy, food science 
and technical merchandise studies, which he put on a secure basis 
through scrupulous microscopic research work.
