Moenchhof, Burgenland, municipality in the district of Neusiedl am 
See, alt. 131 m, pop. 2,182, area 33.57 km%%sup 2/%, 
wine-growing region and health resort offering Kneipp cures, east of 
Lake Neusiedl. - Cistercian abbey with Marienkron Kneipp sanatorium 
(most important employer of the area); health tourist resort (46,568 
overnight stays). - Parish church (first documented mention 1240, 
1729-1734) with Baroque interior, high and side altar-pieces by M. 
Altomonte (1741), gilt pulpit with relief ornamentation; parsonage 
("Palace", since 1729); bell tower (probably defensive tower of the 
former parish church); Trinity column (1714).
