b. Mitterberg, Vorarlberg, Feb. 13, 1799, 
d. Vienna, Feb. 9, 1844 entrepreneur. Worked with the inventor of 
high-speed printing, F. Koenig, from 1821 to 1831, built the first 
Austrian high-speed printer in 1833 and founded the first printing 
machine factory (Helbig & M.) in Vienna in 1836. Greatly contributed 
to modern developments in printing machine design in the 19th century.
