Muenz, Rainer, b. Basel (Switzerland), June 18, 1954, 
demographer. Attended school and university in Vienna (studied 
sociology and journalism); 1990-1992 Director of the Institute for 
Demography of the Austrian Academy of Sciences; since 1992 professor 
of demography at Humboldt University in Berlin.
