d. Vienna, Sept. 1, 1954, physicist. Worked for L.  Boltzmann, F.  
Exner and E.  Mach; 1906 Associate Professor at the University of 
Innsbruck, 1908 to 1946 Professor at the Vienna University of 
Technology (1925/26 rector), founded the Department of Technical 
Physics. Research on physical and technical questions of 
thermodynamics and the radioactivity of Austrian spas; also conducted 
experiments for emanation measurements.

Schweidler); Die Physik der Verbrennungserscheinungen, 1918; 
Einfuehrung in die Theorie der Waerme, 1921.
