Maculan Holding AG, publicly listed umbrella organization founded by 
Alexander  Maculan in 1990 active in the planning, management and 
implementation of international building projects and the development 
of real estates abroad; core of the group was the construction company 
Hofman & Maculan founded in 1938 which was managed by Rudolf  Maculan 
from 1941-1955. Maculan Holding AG´s focus was on projects in 
the new German laender (former East Germany) and Eastern Europe 
(branches in Prague, Budapest, Warsaw, Kiev, Moscow) and the Far East. 
Turnover (1995): about ATS 16 billion. Employees (1995): almost 
9,000. The insolvency case of the Maculan Group was the second-largest 
in the Second Republic. In 1997 A. Maculan began re-building
