b. Rauris (Salzburg), Oct. 22, 1967, d. Garmisch-Partenkirchen 
(Germany), Jan. 29, 1994 ski racer; 1989 and 1991 World Champion in 
the Super-G category, 1991 Second in the giant slalom of the World 
Championship; numerous World Cup victories in the super-G, giant 
slalom and slalom categories. Died in a skiing accident in a downhill 
race.
