!!!Mailberger Bund

Mailberg Federation, founded by a group of nobles, knights and 
representatives of Upper Austrian and Lower Austrian towns (250 
members). Led by Ulrich von  Eyczing they entered into an alliance 
against King Friedrich IV in autumn 1451. Their objective was to have 
Ladislas Posthumus released from tutelage. The principal aim of the 
Estates, however, was to increase their own influence. After having 
laid siege to Wiener Neustadt, where the king was in residence at that 
time, the Estates succeeded in liberating Ladislas in September 1452.
