Mallnitz, Carinthia, municipality in the district of Spittal an der 
Drau, alt. 1,191 m, pop. 1,014, area 111.47 km%%sup 2/%, 
bi-seasonal tourist centre (235,294 overnight stays); climatic health 
resort near the entry of the Seebach stream into the Mallnitzbach 
stream. Hohe Tauern National Park. - Administration offices of the 
health resort and the national park, recreation home owned by the 
social security insurance company for construction and forestry 
workers, Ankogel Cableway to the summits of Hochalmblick Mountain 
(alt. 1,940 m) and Arnoldhoehe Mountain (near the Hannoverhuette 
mountain refuge, alt. 2,720 m); railway tunnel through the Tauern 
Mountains, with piggy-back transfer of motorcars. Recently-built 
parish church (1974-1975). Mallnitz is situated near Lake Stappitzer 
See and Viktor Spring.
