b. Schwechat, Lower Austria, Jan. 18, 1928, singer of Austrian folk 
lieder. When still a child, she was attracted by the songs of  
Volkssaenger and started her career as a stage performer at the tender 
age of 10. Long-time partner of K.  Nagel. Along with K.  Hodina 
considered one of the leading artists that uphold the ''Volkssaenger'' 
tradition.
