!!!Manhartsberg
Manhartsberg Hill, Lower Austria, low ridge with gentle slopes;
constitutes the southern part of a granite plateau stretching between
the River Thaya and the Wagram region (fertile stretch of land north
of the River Danube); parts of the plateau even date from the
Tertiary; Manhartsberg Hill marks the eastern boundary of the Bohemian
Massif (extending over southern Bohemia, western Moravia and northern
Austria) and the Weinviertel (one of Lower Austria´s four main
regions); the hill gave its name to the regions situated to the west
("Region below Manhartsberg Hill" or Weinviertel) and the east
("Region above Manhartsberg Hill" or Waldviertel). Manhartsberg Hill
is mainly wooded with its highest point reaching 537m.
