b. Vienna, May 18, 1886, 
d. Vienna, Sept. 4, 1970, educator and writer. 1919 first woman 
Sektionsrat (senior official) in the Ministry of Education, 
established Women's Secondary Schools, with cooking and housekeeping 
classes as part of the curriculum. 1934 she founded the "Institute for 
Home-making Sciences" and taught there; 1945 to 1949 Editor-in-Chief 
of the paper "Oesterreicherin". 1946 first woman to rise to the rank 
of Ministerialrat (senior position in civil service).
