Maria Weinberg, Burgenland, scattered settlement in the district of 
Guessing, alt. 236 m, old place of pilgrimage situated high above 
the Pinka Valley in the southern part of Burgenland; part of the 
market town of Eberau. - Parish and pilgrimage church of the 
Assumption (also called Maria Weinberg Church), consecrated in 
1524, miraculous representation of the Virgin created in Late Gothic 
style (around 1460-1470), in front of the chancel, statue of the 
Virgin placed on a column (only one of its kind in Burgenland, 1625); 
Late Gothic-Baroque charnel house.
