!!!Marinoni, Johann Jakob

b. Udine (Italy), 1676, d. Vienna, Jan. 10, 1775, astronomer and 
Court mathematician. Designed the  Linienwall as a fortification for 
the Viennese suburbs as shown in his Vienna Plan of 1706. 1719 to 1729 
in Milan, he carried out the first cadastral measurements in Europe. 
In a private residence on the Moelkerbastei he built the first 
observatory in Vienna; also improved several astronomical instruments.
