d. Vienna, Jan. 4, 1981, entrepreneur, great grand-son of Adolf Ignaz  
Mautner, second cousin of Georg  Mautner Markhof. Head of the family 
business of  Mautner Markhof ( Mautner Markhof AG), held numerous 
functions in the field of economics policy. 1950 to 1970 Chairman of 
the Industry Section of the Federal Chamber of Commerce, 1946 to 1972 
Vice-President of the Federation of Austrian Industrialists. 1983-1999 
member of the Bundesrat. Influenced Austrian cultural policies; 
President of the Vienna Konzerthausgesellschaft and friends with many 
artists (including K.  Boehm, F.  Hochwaelder.).
