!!!Maximilian III. der Deutschmeister, Erzherzog

b. Wiener Neustadt(Lower Austria), Oct. 12, 1558, 
d. Vienna, Nov. 2, 1618, Archduke of Austria, son of  
Maximilian II. From 1585/90 Grand Master of the  Teutonic Order 
(seat at Mergentheim), was elected King of Poland by a minority in 
1587 and renounced his title in 1598. 1593 to 1595 governor of Inner 
Austria, 1602 to 1618 regent of Tyrol. M. supported  
Ferdinand II´s succession and donated the Austrian 
archducal crown  Erzherzogshut in 1616 to Klosterneuburg. His grave is 
located in St. Jakob's Cathedral in Innsbruck.
