b. Ofen (Budapest, Hungary), Oct. 19, 1810, 
d. Linz (Upper Austria), Aug. 31, 1876, industrialist. Founded the 
Linz shipyard in 1840 and after a journey to England (1837) began to 
build iron ships. 1873 sold the shipyard to the Allgemeine 
Oesterreichische Baugesellschaft.
