Mayr, Wolfgang, b. Schaerding (Upper Austria), June 11, 
1944, journalist. 1988-1990 head of the foreign affairs department of 
the  Austria Presse Agentur (Austria Press Agency, APA), from 1991 
editor, from 1993 deputy editor-in-chief, since 1997 editor-in-chief. 
1985/1986 laid the groundwork for the establishment of APA´s 
illustrations and photography department.
