Mediz-Pelikan, Emilie, b. Voecklabruck (Upper Austria), Dec. 2, 1861,
d. Dresden (Germany), March 19, 1908, landscape painter; wife of Karl
Mediz. Studied at the Vienna Academy, followed her teacher A.
Zimmermann to Salzburg and in 1885 to Munich; contacts to the Dachau
group of artists, further studies in Paris and Belgium; journeys to
Hungary and Italy. Had little success with her landscape paintings
until 1900.
