b. Vienna, Feb. 14, 1903, 
d. Vienna, Sept. 10, 1991, entrepreneur. In 1933 took over the 
family-owned food store (founded in 1862), from his father Julius  
Meinl (b.1869) which he extended throughout Austria and Eastern Europe 
( Meinl, Julius, AG). In 1935 acquired the rival company Kunz and in 
1936 a bank (Meinlbank). 1938 emigration, until 1948 in exile in 
England.
