!!!Meister von Uttenheim

Meister von Uttenheim, panel painter, worked in South Tirol around
1460/80. So called after the painting from the Church of the Holy
Virgin at Uttenheim showing the Virgin enthroned with St. Margaret and
St. Barbara (ca. 1470, Oesterreichische Galerie Belvedere, Vienna).
Probably worked with Michael Pacher and Friedrich (see) Pacher.
Along with the panels in the Oesterreichische Galerie, the Master of
Uttenheim was also the author of two altarpieces for the monastery at
Neustift near Brixen (South Tirol, now Bressanone, Italy). Also
believed to have crafted the Altar of Moulins (ca. 1470, Moulins,
France), which was probably created for the Cathedral of Brixen. His
work shows considerable Dutch and Italian influences as well as keen
interest in perspective.
