Registration of Sojourn, obligation to notify the responsible 
authorities of any change of address (residence). The system of 
registration is incumbent on the general national security police ( 
Police). Anyone taking or giving up residence is subject to 
registration. Registration authorities are mayors or federal police 
departments. Registration is generally obligatory regardless of the 
length of stay. Any taking or giving up of residence requires notice 
to the authorities. Not subject to registration are persons (e.g. 
visitors) staying less than 3 days or persons spending the night in 
vehicles or tents within the area of the same municipality. 
Registration has to be completed within 3 days following change of 
address, in commercial accommodation (hotels, hostels, inns, etc.) 
within 24 hours following arrival.
