!!!Menninger, Johann Matthias

b. probably in Bavaria (Germany) around 1733, 
d. Vienna, Jan. 15, 1793, actor, theatre director. Said to have 
performed in 1761 with the company of J. Schulz in Baden (Lower 
Austria), In 1766 married the widow of the director and took over the 
management of the company, in which J. J.  La Roche and K. von  
Marinelli also performed. In summer performed in Baden ("Baadnerische 
Truppe"), in winter in cities like Bruenn (Brno) or Pressburg 
(Bratislava). In 1769 first performance in the Theater in der 
Leopoldstadt.
