b. Berne (Switzerland), Oct. 23, 1955, singer, director, theatre 
manager. Numerous performances in the German-speaking area and in 
France. In 1982 founded the opera company of Berne (Berner 
Opern-Truppe), 1983-1985 director in Bremen, from 1987 director of the 
music theatre in Wuerzburg, 1989-1991 in Muenster, from 1992-1999 
manager of the Landestheater in Innsbruck, since 1999 director of the  
Volksoper in Vienna.
