b. Schopfheim (Germany), 1887, 
d. Brandenburg-Goerden (Germany), April 17, 1944 (executed), 
theologian. From 1915 in Graz as pastor, organised charitable social 
work and was active in the peace, Esperanto and temperance movements; 
published the Esperanto journal "Katolika mondo", in 1917 founded the 
"World Peace Work of the White Cross" and advocated 
interdenominational understanding. From 1928 again in Germany, 
arrested in 1943 as an anti-fascist member of the resistance and 
executed in 1944.
