b. Villach (Carinthia), June 1, 1955, long-distance runner, one 
of the most successful track-and-field athletes in Austria: 6th in the 
3,000-m-race in the 1980 Moscow Olympics and 8th in the 1983 World 
Championships. Won over 40 Austrian championships and set Austrian 
records for 3,000 m, 5,000 m and 10,000 m.
