d. Brixen/Bressanone (South Tyrol), Aug. 18, 1924, church 
composer. 1874 ordained as a priest, 1882-1885 conductor at Regensburg 
Cathedral, 1885-1917 conductor at Brixen Cathedral; one of the main 
representatives of the Austrian Cecilian movement; numerous honours 
(1905 honorary citizen of Brixen, 1906 Monsignor, 1917 canon).
