b. Vienna, Nov. 10, 1906, 
d. New York (USA), March 30, 1983, photographer. Studied 
composition under A.  Schoenberg, continued her studies in 1922 in 
Paris, 1936 married the Russian avant-garde painter Evsa Model and 
from 1937 devoted herself to photography. From 1938 lived in the USA 
and gained international renown as photographer (from 1953, e. g. for 
"Harper´s Bazaar").
