!!!Modo Paper Hallein GmbH

Modo Paper Hallein GmbH, one of the largest industrial companies of 
the province of Salzburg, produces paper pulp as well as high-grade 
papers for books, magazines and publicity folders. Founded by a 
British company in 1890, with the Norwegian holding company Borregaard 
as a partner during the period  1918-79; majority taken over by PWA 
Grafische Papiere GmbH in 1979; renamed Hallein Papier AG in 1981, 
taken over by the Swedish SCA group in 1995, 1996 renamed SCA FINE 
PAPER Hallein GmbH in 1996. The fine paper and wholesale divisions of 
the Swedish SCA and MoDo groups were merged in 1999 under the name of 
Modo Paper AB and finally given their current name. With a staff of 
800, the company produced 245,000 tons of paper and 
130,000 tons of pulp in 1998, when sales amounted to ATS 3 
billion.
