!!!Muliar, Fritz

b. Vienna, Dec. 12, 1919, Kammerschauspieler, director and writer. 
From 1937 at first in revues at "Der liebe Augustin" and "Simpl", and 
at the Landestheater Innsbruck. 1947-1949 in Graz, 1949-1953 at the 
Raimundtheater, Vienna, excelling as a buffo in operettas, again at 
the "Simpl", 1958-1963 at the Vienna Volkstheater and 1964-1977 at the 
Theater in der Josefstadt. 1972-1977 guest performances at the 
Salzburg Festival in the part of the "dicker Vetter" in the play 
"Jedermann" (Everyman); 1974-1987 member of the Burgtheater company, 
then guest performances at various theatres in Vienna; highly 
acclaimed in J.  Nestroy roles. Also published books, produced records 
(among them "Jiddische Hitparade"); director and actor in films and on 
television (among them the TV series "Die Abenteuer des braven 
Soldaten Schwejk im Ersten Weltkrieg", 1970/72). Numerous awards 
(Kainz Medal 1978, Nestroy Ring 1984, honorary member of the 
Burgtheater 1995).
