b. Vienna, Aug. 12, 1916, 
d. Obergrafendorf (Lower Austria), March 6, 1978, writer of 
non-fiction, essayist and journalist. During World War II worked for 
the Resistance movement, after the war as a newspaper commentator and 
correspondent, 1958-1964 in the management of the publishing house S. 
Fischer, 1965-1969 in the publishing house F. Molden. M. later worked 
for the newspaper "Die Presse" and for the ORF, the Austrian 
broadcasting corporation.
