Schlug 1743 im [Österreichischen Erbfolgekrieg|AEIOU/Österreichischer_Erbfolgekrieg] die Bayern bei Braunau (Oberösterreich), hatte großen Anteil am Sieg von [Kolin|AEIOU/Kolin] (1757) und eroberte 1757 die Festung Schweidnitz. 1756 zum Banus von Kroatien und 1758 von Maria Theresia zum Feldmarschall ernannt.
