b. Graun/Curon (South Tyrol), March 16, 1844, 
d. Vienna, April 13, 1892, sculptor and writer. Created monuments in 
Leipzig, Zurich, Bozen/Bolzano and Vienna. In Vienna created a Haydn 
monument (1887), sculptures for the Burgtheater and others, and in 
Innsbruck (Berg Isel mountain) the Andreas Hofer monument, which 
reflects N.´s ambition for a monumental representation of the 
human body in the late historicist tradition.
