Naturalism, art movement that replaced Poetic Realism in literature 
around 1885, of little importance in Austria. H.  Bahr became the 
pioneer of Naturalism in Austria but later renounced it. 
Counter-currents such as  Neo-Romanticism and  Impressionismus, which 
culminated in the  Jung-Wien group at the turn of the century, had 
more influence on Austrian literature.
