b. Graz (Styria), July 27, 1907 Graz (Styria), 
d. Vienna, March 17, 1992, studied law, economics researcher, taught 
at the Universities of Graz and Vienna, 1926-1933 worked for Kastner & 
Oehler department store, 1941-1945 free-lance writer and at the 
Institute of Economic Research, of which he was head from 1945. 
1973-1978 director of the Institute of International Economics Studies 
in Vienna.
