Neuberg, Erich, b. Vienna, Aug. 12, 1928, d. Vienna, Jan. 
10, 1967 (suicide), director. Founded the Theater "49" at the 
Naschmarkt in Vienna and produced plays at the "Studio der 
Hochschulen". 1953-1956 manager of the Theater am Parkring, 
première of S. Beckett´s "Warten auf Godot", radio plays 
for Austrian radio, television work. From 1956 head of drama of the 
(then newly established) television company. The E.-N. Prize for 
directors was donated after his death by the Austrian Broadcasting 
Corporation, ORF.

Directed the following TV productions: Geschichten aus dem Wiener 
Wald, 1961; Der Herr Karl, 1961; Der Himbeerpfluecker, 1965.
