!!!Neuhofen an der Ybbs

Neuhofen an der Ybbs, Lower Austria, market town in the district of 
Amstetten, alt. 319m, pop. 2,443, area 36.39 km%%sup 2/%, in the 
foothills of the Alps to the south of Amstetten. Seat of the regional 
Lower Austrian agricultural administrative authorities, Kulturhof 
("Ostarrîchi" documentary centre dedicated to Austrian history), 
recreation centre; wood processing, transport companies. - First 
documented mention under the name of "Niuuanhova" in the document of 
996 which contains the oldest proof of the name  "Ostarrîchi". 
Parish church (documented mention around 1000) built as a late-Gothic 
hall church 1460-1466; high-lying Baroque subsidiary church in 
Toberstetten.
