Grieskirchen, alt. 555m, pop. 1,580, 15.81 km%%sup 2/%, southeast 
of the River Danube in the Sauwald region. Construction businesses, 
trade, summer tourism. Late-Gothic hall church with three naves and 
ribbed vault, Bernhardskapelle chapel (1668), Baroque high altar 
(1765/66) with painting by B. Altomonte (1766); pulpit around 1780.
