!!!Neumann, Franz von der Jüngere

b. Vienna, Jan. 16, 1844, 
d. Vienna, Feb. 1, 1905, architect. Student and assistant of Friedrich 
von  Schmidt; from 1883 worked free-lance; 1889-1900 member of the 
Vienna Municipal Council, 1891-1895 city councillor. Built many 
villas, domestic and administrative buildings as well as churches. His 
style developed from rather severe neo-Renaissance to late historistic 
forms. His father Franz v. N. the Elder (1815-1888) and his brother 
Gustav v. N. (1856-1928) were also well-known architects.

Projects: Vienna: houses with arcades at Rathausplatz, 1878-1883 (some 
with F. Schmidt); Kuffner Villa and Kuffner observatory, 
1884-1886/1890; Antoniuskirche in Vienna, 10th district (1896-1901). - 
Lower Austria: Erzherzog Wilhelm Villa, Baden, 1883; Habsburgerwarte 
observation point on the Hermannskogel Hill, 1888. - Czech Republic: 
Reichenberg/Liberec town hall, 1892.
