Niklasdorf, Styria, municipality in the district of Leoben, alt. 
521 m, pop. 2,987 (1981: 3,349), area 15.16 km%%sup 2/%, on 
the River Mur/Mura east of Leoben. - Cultural centre, leisure park, 
seminar hotel, Institute of Economic Promotion (WIFI) with education 
centre, "Upper Styria" technology park and Leoben laser centre (high 
technology firms); various industrial enterprises: transport, service 
industries, tourism, toxic waste processing plant, paper-mill for the 
production of special papers, production of anticorrosive agents, wood 
processing, building industry. - Old late-Gothic parish church used 
until 1971, new church by J. Hinger (1969-1971) into which parts of 
the interior of the old church were integrated.
