Nittel, Heinz, b. Klagenfurt (Carinthia), Oct. 29, 1930, 
d. Vienna, May 1, 1981 (assassinated by Palestinian extremists), 
politician (Austrian Socialist Party, SPOe). 1969 party secretary for 
the Austrian Socialist Party SPOe in Vienna, 1969/70 member of the 
Landtag of Vienna and member of Vienna City Council, 1970-1976 member 
of the Nationalrat, 1976-1981 Vienna city councillor, general 
secretary of the Austro-Israeli Society.
