Nowak, Leopold, b. Vienna, Aug. 17, 1904, d. Rekawinkel 
(Lower Austria), May 27, 1991, musicologist. 1932 habilitation, 
Professor at Vienna University until 1973, from 1946 director of the 
music collection at the Austrian National Library. Concentrated his 
research on Bruckner. Editor of the complete works of A.  Bruckner 
(from 1951).
