!!!Nurejew, Rudolf

Nureyev, Rudolf, b. Rasdolnoje (in the Trans-Siberian Railway 
near Irkutsk, Russia), March 17, 1938, d. Paris (France), Jan. 6, 
1993, ballet dancer and choreographer. Studied in St. Petersburg, 
1958-1961 member of the Kirov ballet company, 1961 requested political 
asylum in France, from 1962 international career as a soloist (mainly 
with M. Fonteyn). 1964-1988 numerous performances in Vienna as soloist 
and choreographer, from 1982 Austrian citizenship.
